Europe is the first region in the world taking ECODESIGN into the lighting development progress to ban common mercury-containing lamps in the EU market.

The revised lighting regulations under the EU ECODESIGN Directive goes into force on 1st September, banning retrofit compact fluorescent lamps (CFL.i) and T12 “fat” linear fluorescent lamps across the 27 EU member states. Most linear T8 fluorescent lamps will be banned 1st September 2023.

The revised energy label for lighting also comes into effect on 1st September. The A rating of new energy label level means that the light source are produced in 210lm/W (luminous efficacy). So far, there is no lamps on the EU market can reach the level. The best performance of LED lighting from Benson Energy Saving Technology can reach level C. All of our LED products are comply with CE, RoHs certification, and NEW ErP directives.
